News Update On PC Gaming : Call of Duty: Black Ops III Beta Now Open To All On Xbox One And PC

The multiplayer beta test for the next entry to the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops III is now open to everyone on Xbox One and PC, following an update last night. Previously, the beta has been exclusively accessible via a code, with a majority being handed out alongside pre-orders. Playstation 4 owners were given a week's early access, on August 19, however after three days, the beta was opened to all using the console. The beta release on Xbox One and PC soon followed, and as of today, a code is no longer required to play.

From the onset, the beta offered three maps, hosting seven gamemodes, all within the multiplayer sandbox. Since its initial release, further content has been implemented, including new Specialists and maps. Last night’s update included a new map, Stronghold, alongside the new Reaper Specialist Class, which allows you to play as an experimental war robot, created in a now-abandoned military project. The level cap has also been raised to Level 34.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops III beta can be accessed on Xbox One here, and on PC via Steam, here.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III will release November 6, 2015 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PC.

News Gaming Update : Street Fighter V Will Come With 16 Characters Out Of The Box And Additional DLC Characters

Since the EVO fighting championship is currently on, the hype for the latest Street Fighter is at a record high. Even though fans are going to have to be patient for a little while longer before they get a chance to play Street Fighter V, the developers of the game Capcom released certain details about their latest instalment in the franchise at EVO.

This game is going to launch with sixteen playable characters that is only three characters less than the previous Street Fight IV which came with nineteen characters. You shouldn’t worry too much about this though since Capcom has worked very hard on getting rid of the “clone” characters and have tried to give every character a unique feel which is quite evident from the overhaul Ken has received.

Capcom is going to continue adding characters to the game through the DLC (downloadable content) which can be purchased in-game or even earned while you play. This is wonderful since players who do not want to spend days on the game can still purchase characters and make them usable right away while people who do not want to spend the extra money can rough it out and earn the characters.

Capcom is also going to be getting rid of those stupid re-releases like Ultra & Super which were released by the previous instalment. With Street Fighter V, players are only going to need the original release with every other update coming for free.

Street Fighter V is going to release next year during spring on the PS 4 and the PC. There is also an exclusive PS 4 Beta which is in the making and should be online by the 23rd of July.

News Xbox Gaming Update : Xbox One Streaming Goes Live For All

On Friday, Microsoft announced that game streaming for its Xbox One console to Windows 10 PCs has been opened to everyone running the latest build of Windows 10, which is currently 10240. The software giant also said it was planning several updates on features to the Xbox app during the next couple of days, including the ability for that app to mine old PC games and then add them to your complete game collection.

Just as it suggests, game streaming sends game play from Xbox One to a PC that is connected, allowing a gamer to play one game in his bedroom for instance, while another family members watches football on the television in the living room.

This ties the ecosystem at Microsoft together, which gives bonuses for owning a number of different gear made by Microsoft, including Xbox One and a PC with Windows 10.

Previously, game streaming was made a preview application by Microsoft, which required users to run a preview version of the dashboard of Xbox One in order to gain access. With this new update, all users must do is ensure they are running on Windows 10’s most recent build and the most recent version of the app for Xbox.

Microsoft said that the Xbox app should update automatically via Windows Store, but you will need to go to Settings in the Xbox One app  to ensure it possesses 7.7.16004.00000 or higher.

Game streaming needs to be enabled on both the console and on the PC with Windows 10. Once both are enabled and you are connected, you can choose a game from the collection you have and just push play on the console.

Then you will have to own and connect to either a wire Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller to a tablet or PC for it to work.

Throughout the month of July, Microsoft said other new capabilities would be added to the app for Xbox.

The updates include support for PC games that are older, allowing old games to be shown by gamers.

News PC Gaming Update : Xbox One Game Streaming To Windows 10 PCs Goes Live For Everyone

Microsoft said late Friday that game streaming from the Xbox One to Windows 10 PCs has come out of preview, opening it up to everyone running the latest build (currently build 10240) of Windows 10.

Microsoft also said it planned several feature updates to the Xbox app over the next few days, including the ability for the app to mine your old PC games and add them to your game collection.

As the name suggests, game streaming relays game play from Microsoft’s Xbox One console to a connected PC, allowing a gamer to play Forza Horizon in the family room, for example, while other family members watch Monday Night Football on the living-room TV.

Why this matters: There’s two ways of looking at this: On the one hand, it ties Microsoft’s ecosystem together, giving bonuses for owning various sets of Microsoft gear, including the Xbox One and a Windows 10 PC. On the other hand, it’s just plain cool.

From preview to public :

Previously, Microsoft had made game streaming a preview application, requiring users to run a special preview version of the Xbox One dashboard to access it. With the update, all users need to do is ensure they’re running the latest Windows 10 build and the latest version of the Xbox app.

Microsoft said Xbox app should automatically update via the Windows Store, but you’ll need to go into the Settings menu of the Xbox app and ensure you have version 7.7.16004.00000 or higher. (You may actually need to search for the app in the Store and download it; I had to.)

Note you’ll have to enable game streaming on both your Xbox One console and your Windows 10 PC. On the One, enter  Settings > Preferences > Allow game streaming to other devices, and make sure streaming is enabled. On your Windows 10 PC, launch the Xbox app, then scroll down the left-hand menu to the Connect icon. You’ll be offered the option to connect to your Xbox One. (You may need to enter the console’s IP address manually.)

Once connected, you can pick a game out of your collection and then select Play from Console, or else just use the Xbox One native menu. Finally, you’ll need to own and connect either an Xbox One or wired Xbox 360 controller to your PC or tablet to make it all work.

Other Xbox app updates :

Throughout July, Microsoft said it would be adding new capabilities to the Xbox app. The updates will include support for older PC games, allowing gamers to show off older titles from their collection. Gamers will also be able to upload game clips and screen shots from Windows Store games to Xbox Live.

Finally, gamers will be able to take a photo of their avatar and use it as their “gamer pic,” or representation of themselves. Users will have access to many more customization options, Microsoft said.

News Microsoft Gadgets Update : Mass Effect Franchise Creator Will Oversee Microsoft's HoloLens Game Development

HoloLens may not solely focus on gaming, but Microsoft appears to have big plans for games on the augmented reality glasses, and today it's named the man who will oversee those plans.

As revealed in a post on Microsoft's official Xbox Wire website, Casey Hudson has been named the creative director of Microsoft Studios, where he'll oversee development on games for HoloLens and Xbox, among "other awesome projects." Hudson is best known as the creator of the Mass Effect franchise at Electronic Arts subsidiary BioWare, a company he left in August to "take on a new set of challenges."

 
In a brief interview on the Xbox Wire post, Hudson said his "primary focus will be the creative direction of HoloLens Experiences," though he added that he "will be involved in driving a creative focus for Xbox and Windows gaming."

Hudson, who spent 15 years at EA and BioWare, said he was able to try and early prototype of HoloLens prior to its announcement, though he didn't give any indication of what kind of gaming experiences users can expect with the glasses. The veteran game designer said he will "influence the full-spectrum experience on HoloLens, from hardware to OS, to applications and games," however.

Microsoft hasn't set a release date for HoloLens, though the company has said it will launch sometime "in the Windows 10 timeframe." Windows 10 for computers and large tablets is expected to launch in the summer – possibly at the end of July – followed by a smartphone and small tablet version later in the year. A HoloLens release would likely follow that, possibly in late 2015 or early 2016.

News Gaming Product Update : PS4 Will Continue To Outsell The Xbox One Through 2018

Microsoft has made massive changes to its console strategy over the last two years. The Xbox One is cheaper, less restrictive, and more feature-rich than it once was. But in spite of these strides in the right direction, the PS4 still remains dominant. And if a recent analyst report is to be believed, Microsoft’s console is doomed to play second fiddle to the PS4 well into 2018.

Recently, Strategy Analytics released a report on the sales trends of the current console generation. By the end of 2018, this analyst predicts that Sony will have sold 80 million PS4s. On the other hand, Microsoft will have sold just 57 million Xbox Ones. Neither number is anything to sneeze at, but that estimation puts Sony way out in front.

More than anything, this report just adds credence to the idea that the PS4 is Sony’s return to the glory days of the PS2. Perhaps the sales gap won’t be quite as steep as it was two generations ago, but the Xbox team must be upset that they’ve burned so much good will with early mistakes. Hot off the Xbox 360, this was Microsoft’s generation to lose, and lose it did.

What about the Wii U? Well, it looks like Nintendo’s platform will be hovering between 15 and 20 million if this report is to be believed. Even with last year’s top-notch first-party showing, hardware sales were weak. The Legend of Zelda is supposed to ship sometime in 2015, but even that won’t be able to pull the Wii U out of the gutter. I’m certainly not saying that it will sink Nintendo, but the Wii U continues to reek of failure.

Meanwhile, PS4 exclusives have been few and far between. Even worse, Sony’s The Order: 1886 has received shockingly harsh review scores. At this point, Bloodborne and Uncharted 4 are pretty much the only major exclusives on the horizon. The PS4’s hardware is superior, and Sony’s messaging has been more consistent, but the severe lack of compelling titles could hurt the PS4 in the long run.

So, can Microsoft change its fate? It’s definitely in the realm of possibilities. Redmond has been surprisingly proactive with massive shifts in strategy, and the Xbox One even managed to outsell the PS4 for a number of months in 2014. At this point, what these consoles need more than anything is content. And since Microsoft has Halo, Gears of War, and Tomb Raider on lockdown, the future looks bright for Xbox One owners even if the sales gap never shrinks.

News PC Games Update : Marine Grenadier Loot Coming to 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' This Weekend

Through its official Twitter account, Sledgehammer Games announced that gamers playing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be able to earn an entirely new set of gear beginning this weekend.

Sledgehammer Games initially made the announcement through a poster that featured the hashtags #AWGearDrops, #OneShotMoshPit and #2XPGunGame.

The video game developer then sent out a tweet containing an image of a preview of the gear drops coming to the game over the weekend.

The new gear set is the Marine Grenadier set, and it will be available for gamers to earn just in time for the weekend's double experience points bonus. 

The new character loot will begin on Feb, 13 as part of AWGearDrops. The game's new gear will be included into the Supply Drop rotations, and gamers logging into the game over the weekend will be earning parts of the gear set.

The weekend will also be featuring two new modes, namely One Shot Mosh Pit and Gun Game. All these things happening all at once makes it very attractive for gamers to dive into Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare over the weekend.

The Gun Game mode was first seen by gamers in a previous iteration of the franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game mode pits six players in a free-for-all duel that does not give the players a choice on their load-out. In addition, all players start the game with only their pistols.

Every time a player kills another player, his weapon will change to another among the 20 listed weapons for the game. The winner is the first player to kill using each of the 20 weapons in the game.

Before Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was released, the developers said that the mode will be included in the title. However, it seems that there was not enough time to complete the Gun Game mode, but it will finally be released this weekend.

Activision said that it has made $11 billion from its Call of Duty franchise since the first version of the shooting game was launched in 2003, showing the value of the video game series to the company.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has received rave reviews and has been one of the best releases of the franchise. Several new gameplay aspects were introduced into the latest version of the game, including the exo-suits and futuristic weapons.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has versions available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

Gaming News Update : Game Of The Month January 2015

If you're a pessimist, you might look at months like January as bone dry when it comes to video game releases. An optimist, however, sees such a month as a chance to pay close attention to games that might have otherwise flown under the radar. And as it happens, January of 2015 had a great many smaller gems worthy of your time and your love. One of them, the beautiful and imaginative Lost Constellation, even allows you to pay what you want, so there's no reason not to engage in its delights. The words "beautiful" and "imaginative" also describe Gravity Ghost, a short puzzle game with an aesthetic sensibility so unique that it's hard to escape its pull once you set eyes on it. Now is the time to catch up on what you're missing, for it's at the fringes that you find games that are truly special.


January also brought us excellent strategy games in the forms of Grey Goo and Blackguards 2. Grey Goo in particular is a return to form for the prototypical RTS formula, harking back to a time when base-building and combat stood on equal footing. With StarCraft II dominating that landscape, and with beloved franchises like Command & Conquer apparently left to slowly die, Grey Goo's traditional gameplay feels remarkably fresh in 2015. Then there is Blackguards 2, rising from the Might & Magic tradition, and making it fun to be a bad guy in a world full of nasty possibilities. If the PC is your gaming home, then January made it perfectly comfortable to remain there.

It was a multiplatform game that most inspired the GameSpot staff, however: Dying Light. Given its flaws, you wouldn't expect it to gain such favored status, but it's hard to ignore the power of good parkour. This is a game in which you're generally best off avoiding the crowds of zombies that fill the streets, and gives you the tools to take to the rooftops and leap above the undead. Dying Light's fun factor is off the charts, coming to a head when day turns to night, and the threat keeps you racing through the streets as well as above them. This is when tensions rise, your heart thumps loudly, and you alternately hide and sprint, knowing that peril is always only a few steps away. We therefore name Dying Light as GameSpot's Game of the Month for January, 2015, due to its uncanny ability to make running for your life so enjoyable.

New Product Launch : Microsoft XBOX 360 Gets Price Cuts Across The Table Base Bodel Starting From 210 Doller

Microsoft has launched a new 500 GB model for their Xbox 360 console bundle in India at just Rs 19,990 and adds in two games, Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Call of Duty: Ghosts along with one month Xbox Live Gold membership as well.  Along with the launch, the company has also announced price cuts for various Xbox 360 versions making it affordable for game lovers.

The price for the 4GB standalone Xbox 360 model which was Rs 15, 990 before is now Rs 12,990. The 250 GB Xbox 360 model with Kinect which was Rs 31, 990 prior is now available for Rs 29, 990. The 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect which was available for Rs 26, 990 is now available for Rs 21, 990.

The devices are available with Amazon India.

Unfortunately last month, Microsoft’s Xbox was attacked by hacker group Lizard Squad. Microsoft’s Xbox Live and Sony’s PlayStation Networks both experienced user connection problems on Christmas Day.

Both companies expected heavy use as people who received Microsoft Xbox players or Sony PlayStations on Christmas tried to hook up. The problems may have been exacerbated by Sony’s decision to let consumers download the controversial movie The Interview through Xbox Video as well as other online sources.

Gaming News : Xbox One Price Back To $349 After 8 Days Back On $400

Back in November of 2014, we first heard rumblings of Microsoft bringing the Xbox One's price down to $349 for the holidays. This would include the console by itself and/or a game or games to go with it. Not long after the price drop was confirmed, Microsoft suggested things were going well - the console was jumping off shelves. It was suggested by analysts that the price drop might become permanent. Come last week, the pricing returned to normal - but not for long.

Here just eight days after the price of the Xbox One was returned to $399, Microsoft has once again suggested they'll be bringing back the $349 price point. This pricing starts today at select retailers, and should become universal over the next several days.

Does it make sense for Microsoft to move the price back and forth like this? What could they possibly hope to gain from such a move? Will this $349 price point become permanent this time around?

According to Xbox Wire, "the [holiday] Xbox One deals were quite popular and have inspired a new promotion starting January 16 where fans in the U.S. can buy an Xbox One for $349 at their preferred retailer." This knocks out international sales at the lower price point, but keeps the United States.

It also suggests that it'll only be the Xbox One non-game packs that'll work with the lower price point. The special bundles with games like Assassin's Creed Unity and Sunset Overdrive will be retaining their higher cost.

We'll just have to wait and see whether Microsoft keeps the pricing on-par for competition with Sony's PlayStation 4. Given their assertion that the Xbox One "became the best-selling console in the U.S. in November and December*," if they can afford to sell the device at this price, they had very well better.
