New Smart Application Update :Microsoft’s Voice Assistant Cortana Coming To Android and iOS Devices Soon

Smartphone voice assistants can be described in plain simple words as ‘freaking cool’. They have come a long way and at present they can almost be seen as the baby versions of Tony Stark’s Jarvis. While Google Now is a great search and convenience tool, Microsoft’s Cortana and Apple’s Siri have anthropomorphic qualities that let them have human live conversations with the users. Microsoft has decided to take Cortana to a wider audience and will be bringing its voice assistant to iOS and Android devices.

Microsoft has said that it will be introducing Cortana on other operating systems as a standalone app. The company will also be integrating its artificial intelligence(AI) based technology called ‘Einstein’ with the voice assistant. With Einstein’s support, Cortana would be able to read and understand emails that will help it provide more convenient features to the users. It would let it offer suggestions to the user, even before they ask for it, something Google Now has been doing for a while.

Cortana is based on the artificially intelligent character of the same name from the famed video game, Halo. The personality of the voice assistant is also derived from the AI character from the game. Microsoft has been banking on Cortana’s ability to chit chat with the users. Cortana also offers usual voice assistant features like setting reminders and calendar, weather and traffic information, writing notes and messages.

Microsoft will also be bringing Cortana on Windows 10 operating system for desktops. It might actually beat Apple in this field as the Cupertino-based company didn’t bring Siri to the latest Yosemite operating system. Microsoft is contemplating the fall timeframe for the launch of the app. So if you liked Google Now but wanted a more human-like interaction, Microsoft’s Cortana is coming soon to give you company.

Speaking of voice assistants, remember that one time we got Siri to speak in Punjabi?

New Application Update : WhatsApp Nervous About Free Voice Calling Feature Launch In India

WhatsApp is testing its free voice calling feature through a small number of people in India, possibly having sped up this launch to meet Hike’s challenge. But there’s not much reason for the former to worry about seeing as its second largest user base resides on these shores, while the latter is still trying to catch up to it.

The free voice calling function appears to be available on invite-only basis at present. What this means is that you have to get a call through WhatsApp from someone who already has it. The release has been restricted to Android users for now and is reported to be accessible through the newest version 2.11.508 of the messenger app.
The software update is not available through Google Play Store, but can be downloaded as an APK file via the official WhatsApp website section for Android. The news and images were picked up by GSMArena through a Reddit member dubbed pradnesh07 who was able to use it on a Nexus 5 smartphone running on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

According to the tipster on Reddit, some people started seeing the VoIP feature merely after picking up a voice call made through WhatsApp and then restarting. But some folks may have to reinstall the application before being able to enjoy free voice calling. The invite-based launch makes it clear that things are being taken slowly.

If you’ve miraculously or accidentally been treated to WhatsApp’s voice calling function, then you will notice an icon for it beside the Chats and Contacts tabs. But for some, trying to dial up a contact using the free VoIP calling option is said to only bring up a list of apps through which the call can be placed, including Google’s stock dial-pad.
Telecom companies across India are already acting like cry babies over the fact that customers are showing increasing preference for web-based applications like WhatsApp, Skype, Line and Viber to communicate with others. They’ve taken up the issue of regulating such Internet-based services with TRAI in order to staunch the loss of SMS and voice revenues.

It’s possible that this is one reason for WhatsApp having released the free voice calling feature in a limited way. It will also give the company time and feedback, both which will be needed to iron out any noisome bugs.

News Application Update : WhatsApp Free Voice Calling Feature Reportedly Starts Rolling Out

After rolling out the much-anticipated Web client to Android users, WhatsApp is now reportedly slowly rolling out the promised free voice calling feature - once again to Android users.

A Reddit user on Friday posted screenshots of the voice calling feature, supposedly accessible in the latest WhatsApp app (v2.11.508) for Android from the company site on a Google Nexus 5 running Android 5.0.1 Lollipop in India.

Reddit user pradnesh07 claims (via GSMArena) users who are running the aforementioned combination of WhatsApp app version, Android OS version, and device make will not be able to activate the voice calling feature until they receive a call from someone else with the feature already activated - hinting at a slow, almost invite-based rollout.
The user further notes those who activate the WhatsApp voice calling feature in this manner - of receiving a call from someone with the feature already enabled - may not be able to use the feature to place further calls themselves.

To be noted before proceeding with a description of the UI seen in the screenshots, is that WhatsApp has yet to make any announcements about the rollout of voice calling to users, and that if reports are correct, the feature still appears to be in testing due to the very limited nature of the rollout. User pradnesh07 also claims to have been able to activate the feature only after receiving a WhatsApp call.

The screenshots show WhatsApp now features a new Calls tab on top, alongside Chats and Contacts, where users can start a call with one of their WhatsApp contacts via the 'New call' button on top, similar to the already-present 'New chat' button. Some users report that at this point, they are shown a list of apps including the Google dialler with which they can place the call, but no WhatsApp calling option.

Those with the feature fully working will supposedly see a standard calling interface, with the disconnect button above buttons for speaker, messages, and mute. Beyond call history visible on the Calls tab (not shown here as contact details were insufficiently blurred), no further screenshots were shared, of an in-call interface for example.

The WhatsApp voice-calling UI seen in the screenshots is mostly in-line with earlier screenshots from December that were supposedly found by digging around within the WhatsApp app for Android, but not yet functional.

Until a wider rollout of the feature, or WhatsApp's own announcements, we'd still recommend taking the reports with a pinch of salt. While the feature free voice calling feature has been promised for Q1 2015, and already has telecom operators pre-emptively looking to regulate with tariff measures, it's possible it may actually roll out globally in a slightly different form.

Governments Could Now Snoop On Your Skype Conversations

Nations might now be able to observe Speech over On the internet Method (VoIP) interactions by ‘silently recording’ them quickly on solutions such as Skype. Experienced with the apparently huge task of trying to observe interactions over the web, governments seem to have found an best friend in this new neighbor's technological innovation.

Dennis Alter, a California-based business owner has acquired a certain for a ‘revolutionary’ solution; something that he says is a “next-generation monitoring technological innovation designed to discreetly indentify online conversations and movie phone calls quickly.”

Chang, the chief executive of the Sun Area centered VoIP-PAL, a service similar to Skype’s has won a sequence of patents for a program he statements will help government bodies recognize and observe thinks merely by obtaining their login name and prospective subscriber information.

Since VoIP software transforms analog sound alerts into electronic information packages to let individuals create telephone phone calls over the On the internet, it becomes a very expensive, complicated event for police officers organizations to tap.

“VoIP solutions work by digitising callers' analog voice alerts and transferring them as packages of electronic information to send on the globe wide web directly to individuals. Because of the fragmentary characteristics of the information sent, and the bulk of information sent together with it, it is difficult for any eavesdropper to single out a regular flow to pay attention in to,” says the Daily Mail in its report.

With 4G relationships creating it simpler for individuals across the globe to perform conversations over VoIP solutions, Nations are concerned about how it will affect their monitoring technique over the On the internet.

The problems of monitoring related to VoIP have led certain countries such as Ethiopia and Oman to prevent the solutions on protection reasons. The FBI returning in the United States too has known as this as the ‘Going Dark’ problem and are forcing for new abilities to force On the internet talk suppliers to build in secret backdoors to wiretap alleged criminals’ online devices.

The certain will help in monitoring thinks down using payments records that affiliate titles and details with usernames. This ability would create not only sound interactions but ''any other information sources such as genuine information and/or movie or multi-media data'' open for interception.

This program could be circumvented if users are weird enough to use incorrect prospective subscriber information and solutions to cover up their IP details. Nevertheless, this certain could be a watershed moment in the pursuit of the governments around the globe to observe thinks in the name of police officers.

In Native indian too, the govt had made its concerns obvious about their lack of ability to observe interactions on BlackBerry Courier, starting off a sequence of events and stand offs with RIM. After going returning and forth several times for around four years, RIM finally decided to hand over security important factors for its secure corporate e-mails and popular messenger solutions. The company also recently confirmed a remedy through which information and emails traded between BlackBerry devices can be intercepted before creating them available to Native indian protection organizations. The govt wishes to stop the neglect of the secured solutions in the country.

VoIP And Iinstant Messaging Problem Looming: Skype Doesn't Support IPv6

Summary: Microsoft may be closing down Windows Live Messenger in favor of Skype, but Skype has a connectivity problem: It doesn't support the Internet's next generation protocol: IPv6.

Skype, despite built-in promotion and no comfort assures  is still a very well-known Speech over Online Method (VoIP) and im (IM) customer. Indeed, Ms is changing Microsoft windows Stay Texting with Skype. Skype has another issue that's becoming progressively troublesome: It doesn't assistance Online Method edition 6 (IPv6).

This is rather odd. Microsoft windows 8, and previously variations of Microsoft windows, assistance IPv6.  With the last IPv4 details disappearing, more and more companies and categories are going to IPv6 and most MIcrosoft programs have lengthy reinforced the next creation Ip deal with. By remaining trapped in the IPv4 road, Skype will not only become useless for smoe customers, it's also becoming an hurdle to IPv6 adopting.

Cameron Byrne, Specialized Team Designer at T-Mobile, noticed on the IPv6 Online providers record that "Yet another season goes by, and Skype still continues to be one of the most well-known programs, and thus its IPv4 dependancy prevents significant IPv6-only adopting. Skype is the poster kid of IPv4 dependancy."

True, issues and all, Skype continues to be very well-known. Skype may consideration for as much as a third of worldwide long-distance contact moments and it's well lovedr on Android operating system as a way of avoiding service provider voice moments limitations.

That's all well and excellent but as Dan You are able to, Mature Material Strategist (Internet Security)   for the Online Community factors out Skype's IPv4 specifications is a actual issue for going the Online to its next protocol. "Skype's failing to back up IPv6 *is* a significant challenge for many companies and *is* the purpose I've had several individuals tell me they can't shift to an IPv6-only system (or even is just a blocker for them to even think about IPv6, i.e. 'Skype doesn't perform with IPv6 so why should we hassle.' The fact is, it is the purpose why *I* can't shift to using only IPv6 within my house system."

Since we will run out of IPv4 details soon, Northern This country's last IPv4 deal with is predicted to be allocated out next July, Ms needs to do something prior to later. When I requested Ms about this their only reaction was "Skype does not assistance IPv6 presently." Ms, now is enough a chance to choose an occasion.

We know Ms can do it. Lync 2013, Windows business cooperation hosting server, which also facilitates VoIP and IM, and contains Skype interoperability, already facilitates IPv6.
