News SmartPhone Release Update : ARCHOS Unveils The 50d Helium Smartphone – Android 5.1, 13MP Camera, $129

If you aren’t familiar with French smartphone and tablet manufacturer ARCHOS, perhaps now is a good time to do so. Over the past few years the company has aimed to produce high-quality software and hardware for a low price point, and it looks like its new offering does just that. ARCHOS has just unveiled the budget-friendly 50d Helium smartphone that may actually give other low cost smartphones a run for their money.

The 50d Helium offers up a 5.0-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 resolution, a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor, Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage and microSD expansion. It also features a dual SIM card slot, 4G LTE connectivity, a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facer and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The non-removable 2100mAh battery is perhaps the worst specification this device brings to the table, but I’m pretty sure the price point will make up for it as far as many users are concerned.
The ARCHOS 50d Helium ships with two soft, “stone finished” interchangeable backplates in Storm Blue and Stone Grey color options, and will be available this July for just $129. ARCHOS didn’t reveal a specific release date for the device, so we’ll let you know when it becomes available.

So what do you think, is the 50d Helium worth $129? Or is that too much to ask? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments.

News HTC Handset Update : HTC One M9 Plus Spotted In Benchmark – Sports 5.1-Inch Quad HD Screen, 13-Megapixel Front Camera

Dutch-speaking TechTastic has spotted an HTC-made device with model number HTC 0PK71 pass through benchmark database site CompuBench. The unannounced device is believed to be the HTC One M9 Plus, which rumoured to be a version of the HTC One M9 with a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) screen. The HTC One M9 is said to sport a 1080p screen.
According to the listing, the HTC 0PK71 sports a 5.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, which works out to a pixel density of 576 ppi. This goes against what we’ve been coming across online, claiming the HTC One M9 Plus will sport a 5.2-inch 144p screen.

The listing also reveals that the HTC One M9 Plus will not sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor like previously reported, but a MediaTek MT6797 CPU. The MT6797 is a 64-bit processor with eight Cortex-A53 cores and a PowerVR G6200 Rogue GPU. The MT6797 is a weaker CPU that is no match for the Snapdragon 805.

The HTC One M9 Plus may lack processing power, but it makes up for this in the camera department. According to the listing, the smartphone sports a massive 20-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of recording 4K videos. It’s front-facing camera is massive as well at 13 megapixels. Not only is it optimised for snapping selfies, it can record 4K videos as well.

The rest of the specs include 32 GB  of internal storage and 3 GB of RAM. It runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box.

Disappointed the HTC One M9 Plus doesn’t sport the more powerful Snapdragon 810? There is a possibility that the HTC 0PK71 is meant to land in Asian markets to keep costs down. So there’s still a chance a version sporting Qualcomm’s most powerful processor to date will be available in other markets such as the UK.

News Productd Launched : New Motorola Moto G 4G Launched In Brazil

We have been hearing rumors about the Motorola Moto G 4G since November of last year, and now Motorola has launched the handset in Brazil.

The new Motorola Moto G 4G is now available to buy direct from Motorola in Brazil, the handset features the same specifications as the existing Moto G.
The Moto G 4G is equipped with 1.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and it features 1GB of RAM, the device also comes with 16GB of included storage.

Other specifications on the new Motorola Moto G 4G include a 5 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, the handset also comes with front and rear facing cameras.

On the front of the device there is a 2 megapixel camera on the back there is an 8 megapixel camera with an LED flash. The handset comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and the device features dual SIM card slots.

A LTE-enabled variant of the Moto G (2014) has been circulating in the rumor mill for quite some time now and now it's finally become a reality. Motorola has apparently opted out of an official announcement and instead the new handset crept up on us and appeared on the manufacturer's Brazilian page and is already available to purchase.

The move was only logical since the first generation Moto G proved to be such a huge hit, both in emerging markets and even in places like the UK with the LTE upgrade only sweetening the deal even more. The budget-oriented, Moto G 4G (2015) offers a slick and clean almost pure-android experience just like its predecessors and comes with a few notable modifications over the base version.
First and foremost Motorola has decided to stick with the dual-SIM setup and make it available in the 4G variant as well. The phone comes equipped with two micro SIM slots with presumably only one capable of LTE speeds. Other notable changes over the Moto G (2014) include a larger, 2,390mAh, battery which should compensate for the increased power consumption from the new modem. Onboard storage will be 16GB with no 8GB option available and physically the smartphone will retain its compact dimensions with only about 6g of extra weight due to the beefier battery.

The rest of the internals are unchanged. The handset is still powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, clocked at 1.2GHz, has the same 5-inch 720p display and the same camera setup - 8MP main and 2MP front-facing shooter. A small, but significant detail to note is that the new device will be shipping with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, while previous Moto G phones are still mostly running 4.4 KitKat and despite Motorola's best wishes are still waiting on an update.

The new Moto G 4G (2015) can already be purchased from a Brazilian retailer for BRL 899, which is about $345. This definitely seems like a premium for a device that is supposed to be budget-oriented and it is. Brazilian handset prices are traditionally very high and not representative of what smartphones costs elsewhere.

Despite its inconspicuous arrival the new Moto G 4G (2015) has all the right ingredients to continue to legacy of its predecessor and if Motorola manages to keep costs low than the handset definitely has a bright future ahead of it.

New Product Launch : Xiaomi Mi 3 On Sale on India’s Republic Day Via Flipkart

You’ve got one more shot to get your hands on the Xiaomi Mi 3 this Republic Day before its successor hits India later in the week. The company has decided to hold yet another flash sale for the exiting model on January 26 at around 5pm. But before you go to Flipkart to buy it, you’ll need to register your interest in laying your hands on a unit.

The Xiaomi Mi 3 has been enjoying good publicity on these shores thanks to the marketing gimmicks surrounding its launch, just like other phones from the company. But above everything else, there’s no way to deny that the device does pack in some very nice specs for the price it commands. For Rs 14999, you get a full HD display, a Snapdragon processor and more.

After a series of successful sales, Xiaomi stopped selling the smartphone in India, only to bring it back for Diwali along with priority passes for a few. The registration process for January 26 will require you to pledge your love for it by performing a series of tasks. You have to ‘like’ and then share this post on Facebook with three of your friends.

A link will be provided between 12pm to 2pm on Monday so that you can register for the sale. And then at 5pm on the same day, you will actually be able to log into Flipkart and add the Mi 3 to your shopping cart. Sounds complicated and exhausting, doesn’t it? You may want to take a look at the features we’ve listed below to see if it’s worth the trouble.

Xiaomi Mi 3 specifications:

– Quad core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 chip
– 5-inch 1080p touchscreen
– Android v4.4 KitKat OS w/ MIUI V5
– 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM
– 13MP and 2MP
– 3050mAh battery

Of course, it looks suspiciously like the Xiaomi Mi 3 is being put through a stock clearance sale in the name of Republic Day. But if you like the device and are willing to jump through all the hoops in order to lay hands on it, why not?
