News Microsoft Product Update Report : Microsoft Office 2016 To Launch On 22 September

After officially rolling out Windows 10, Microsoft is now gradually releasing updates to match up the new operating system. The company is rumoured to release the final version of the Office 2016 next month.

WinFuture learned from a source close to Microsoft that the company will launch Office 2016 on September 22. The report also claims to have sources inside Microsoft who provided them with a leaked screenshot of the company’s intranet site.

A page called the Office 2016 Launch Hub stated, “We’ll release Office 2016 with updates for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Skype for Business, Project, Visio, Access, and Publisher. The innovation wave continues in Q2 with the release of E5 and Skype for Business, and on-premise servers will follow.” Microsoft has apparently already informed its employees in the last few days that the official launch for Office 2016 will take place end of September.

Back in June, Microsoft had released Office 2016 for Mac along with new apps for Android phones as well. An Office 365 subscription gets you – $70 for a single Mac or Windows PC at a time, or $100 for five. Mobile apps are free, though a subscription unlocks advance features that most people won’t need. Mac and Windows versions are sold the traditional way, too, with a one-time payment, though you can’t use Office on another PC without buying it again.

Office News Update : Gallery: Office 2016 Technical Preview Build 16.0.3629.1006 Has Leaked

On January 21st, Microsoft announced the next version of its powerful productivity suite, Office 2016, which will arrive in the second half of 2015. The company also revealed that the touch-first universal Office apps will soon be available to test with future builds of the Technical Preview of Windows 10.
The Redmond giant has been testing Office 16 with a small group of people in a limited preview program. We've recently received a document that shows an overview of the new features and improvements in the latest build offered to beta testers, which is 16.0.3629.1006. Most of the changes are not cosmetic, but have to do with new functionality and the rebranding of Lync as Skype for Business.

Just recently, someone managed to leak the installer for the January refresh of the Office 16 Beta (16.0.3629.1006) online, and has already been downloaded by quite a few people eager to see what's new. As we've detailed before, the are many small changes in the new version, along with new icons that align with those you see in the Technical Preview of Windows 10.

Below you have an image gallery where you can see the looks of the new version, as well as some of the new features:

New Product Launch Planning : Microsoft To Launch Office 2016 This Year, Office Touch Apps Arriving 'In The Coming Weeks'

Microsoft has already announced a ton of exciting stuff this week, but the company isn't done yet. Today, it announced that the next version of its fully-featured Office suite of desktop PC applications will be called Office 2016.
Microsoft has been testing the new version of Office internally with a handful of its key partners. Images that leaked last year suggest the new release won't rock the boat too much in terms of design, although customers can expect to see a range of new features and improvements.

The company said today that it "will have more to share on Office 2016 in the coming months", confirming its earlier promise of releasing the new applications "in the second half of 2015" – perhaps coinciding with the launch of Windows 10, which is expected around the same time.

Although Microsoft did not publicly show its new Office 2016 desktop applications this week, it did unveil its new suite of touch-friendly Office apps for Windows. As with the touch-optimized Office apps on Android and iOS, they lack the complete feature set of the desktop applications, but they still offer many of the features that users need most often for creating, editing and sharing documents.

As Universal Windows apps, they'll be available not just on Windows 10 PCs, notebooks, and tablets, but also on smartphones. Microsoft shared a few images of the Office touch apps for Windows 10 today, showing how they'll look on handsets and devices with larger displays.

PowerPoint for Windows 10

Microsoft says the new Office touch apps will eventually be "pre-installed for free on phones and small tablets running Windows 10, and available to download from the Windows Store for other devices." It adds that the new apps will be "available with the Windows 10 Technical Preview in the coming weeks and general availability is on track for later this year."
