Apple is reportedly taking a new marketing route with the MacBook Air 2016 i8s which has recently been rumored to be launched earlier than expected.

According to Geek Snack, the new MacBook Air, which was initially set to hit the market by March 2016 is being prepped for an early release this November.

With the surprisingly release of the Moto X Style, Moto X Play and Moto G, the outlet sees an early 2016 MacBook launch to be very plausible.

Apple and Motorola have been repeatedly pitted against each other as leading companies in the tech manufacturing industry.

Rumors suggest that the production of MacBook Air 2016 i8s has been ramped up to be released just in time for the Holidays this 2015.

Other rumors also imply some negative reviews of this plan, especially after considering that the MacBook Air 2015's recent release was not been graciously accepted by the public because of its repetitive features and lack of change for a relatively expensive device.

Christian Today sees the $100 introductory price tag for the upcoming 2016 MacBook Air as "the lowest-priced Apple laptop in history."

According to the outlet, the Cupertino-based company incorporated the Intel Core-M-based Skylake processor, the latest chipset Intel has to offer.

The new line of MacBook Air would also be made available in two sizes, a 13-inch and a 15-inch model which would both sport a lighter and thinner exterior than its predecessors.

It would also boast a retina display that offers users an enhanced viewing experience through a 178-degree viewing angle with its richer and more vibrant colors.

The upcoming line of laptops from the iPhone-maker is also expected to run on Microsoft's Windows 10 out of the box.

It would have 4GB random access memory as well as a 128GB and 256GB SSD storage while its premium model is seen to be running on 8GB RAM and 512GB storage space.

Geek Snack also predicts that the upcoming MacBooks from Apple would maintain its backlit keyboard but would replace the rigid buttons with ones that are easier to click and are textured to lessen mistypes.

It would also be thinner than all other Apple laptops - or any laptop at that - with about 11.5 mm thickness.

These are mere speculations and rumors. Apple has yet to confirm any detail as of the writing of this article.

If you've been waiting to buy an iPad Air 2, this may be the week to do it. Best Buy has cut prices on many models by $50 to $100. Prices aren't the lowest we've seen, but they're close, especially on higher-capacity models.
Best Buy is also having a sale on some of its MacBook Air models, dropping the prices by $100. With the deal, the prices are the lowest we've seen on the 11-inch MacBook Air models since they were released. Best Buy is also now selling the Apple Watch, but there are no discounts to be had on the device.
Apple's Back to School promotion is still going on, and as of this week, it's expanded to the online store as well. Apple is offering a free pair of Beats Solo2 headphones with the purchase of a Mac.

iPad Air 2 :

Best Buy is discounting its selection of iPad Air 2 models this week, dropping prices from $75 to $100. The biggest discount is on the 128GB Cellular iPad Air 2 in Gold and Space Gray, available for $729.99, the lowest price we've seen on that particular model.


The 16GB Wi-Fi only model is available for $449, the 64GB Wi-Fi model is available for $524.99, and the 128GB Wi-Fi model is available for $599.99, $100 off.

B&H Photo is offering a discount on some of its iPad Air 2 models, dropping prices by $30 to $75. The biggest discount is on the site's 64GB Cellular iPad Air 2 models, which are available for $654.99. The discount is available on all colors, including Silver, Gold, and Space Gray.

Other B&H iPads are discounted by $30 to $50 and prices vary by model. The 16GB entry-level Wi-Fi model, for example, is priced at $469, while the 64GB Wi-Fi model is $569.

It's been said that the new MacBook is actually the long anticipated iPad Pro. By that observers mean that the low weight, OS X power for traditional activities and the 12-inch screen rival what one could expect to do with the 12.x-inch iPad Pro. Many think Apple will release that iPad Pro in a few months to breathe new life into the product line. But I digress.

Today, this blurring of the weight penalty for a modern notebook Mac like the MacBook is an astonishing and pleasing thing to discover. Right away, one's brain says, I would love to be mobile, to travel with this Mac.

I weighed my iPad Air with its folio cover (Macally Clear Case). The total weight is 684 grams (1.50 pounds). That seems like a fair comparison because the MacBook also has a lid that closes to protect the display. Meanwhile, the naked MacBook weighs 910 grams (2.0 pounds). When the weights are this close, something clicks in the brain about the portability and desirability of the MacBook.

Apple Stores Say No

However, in the Apple retail stores, these majestic MacBooks are tethered to the tables. About all one can do is lift one up for a bit and then stoop over and fiddle with the keyboard. Its a tiresome process. Indeed, I already wrote about important it is to spend some quality time with this excellent keyboard. "Eight Weeks With the MacBook Keyboard: Total Love."

What the customer really needs to do is walk around the store with one, put it in a backpack or briefcase, sit on the floor in a corner or sit on one of the high stools near the genius bar and type for 20 minutes. Hold it. In fact, fondle it at length. Free from its bindings.

Now I know what you're thinking: the security aspects of letting a customer walk around with an untethered MacBook are a challenge. One of them might just continue walking, right out of the store. However, if the salesperson really wants to close the deal, he or she could accompany the prospective customer during this sales opportunity.

It's also a chance to more fully engage the customer, answer questions and demonstrate features such as AirPlay, AirDrop and AirPrint. The impact of those technologies is huge when the MacBook rests in the lap, not wired to a table.

Sure it's a challenge, but in grand scheme of challenges for Apple, this seems like a small one. For example, one could limit the number of untethered MacBooks to one or two at a time. (And have Find My Mac turned on.)

This new MacBook is beautiful and desirable by virtue of its two pound design point. Just like the Apple Watch, which one has to actually try on to appreciate, the MacBook needs to be "tried on" in a real world scenario.

Otherwise, it becomes a lonely, small, hamstrung device. Chained to a table. Aching to be carried around and typed on for awhile, but unable. It longs for a great escape.

News Apple Tech Update : MacBook Scorecard: 5 Compromises, 5 Triumphs

Summary:While the super-thin MacBook is an engineering achievement, it's not without compromises. We share those along with its best new features.

Looking at the new MacBook from the side it almost appears to be a tablet with a very thin stand. It's a full laptop. and the thinnest ever made according to Apple.

Building such a thin notebook is an engineering feat that requires some give and take in the design and construction. Some key compromises were made by Jony Ive's team, and prospective buyers will have to decide if they are too big to overlook.

The MacBook with its 12-inch screen is closest in size to Apple's 11-inch MacBook Air. The trade-offs that were made in the new MacBook design put it head-to-head against the MacBook Air.

In no particular order, here are five areas that Apple chose to compromise in the MacBook design:

1. Intel Core M processor - When a laptop reaches a certain thinness, the issues of space, heat, and power consumption work together to create a big engineering problem. Apple's approach to deal with them is to drop the Intel Core i5 or i7 processor in favor of the newer Core M.

The Core M is a power-stingy (5W) processor that is fanless and generates little heat compared to the Core i5 or i7 as found in the MacBook Air. It allows Apple to make the logic board one-third the size of that in the Air, something that had to be to make the new MacBook as thin as it is.

While my experience with Windows laptops with a Core M processor has been positive, some may find it too big a step back from the faster Core ix.

2. Battery life - The processor concession and the smaller logic board it is attached to open up a lot of additional space inside the cramped notebook. This allows Apple to fill it with additional batteries, even using a new terraced design to fill it completely.

With the extra space for batteries and the concession of the lower power processor, you'd expect the new MacBook to offer more battery life than the MacBook Air, but that's not the case. The 9 - 10 hours quoted by Apple is the same as that of the thicker MacBook Air. While that is probably all day battery life for most, it feels like a step back given all the work to put more battery in the thin casing.

3. Ports - The thin side of the MacBook base doesn't have any room for ports, so Apple excluded them. The one port is the new USB-C that has been engineered to provide power, USB, VGA, Display, and HDMI.

As impressive a feat as making one port serve five functions, you can only plug in one thing at a time which reduces the usefulness. Apple sells a dongle to extend the port's usefulness, but that's $79.

The new port means the end of the tried and true Magsafe power connector that Apple made famous years ago. That connector is a safety feature that pops out when someone trips over the power cord, preventing damage to the laptop. I guess now such a trip may yank the new MacBook to the floor.

4. Web cam - The Facetime camera on the new MacBook is a measly 480p which is pretty low for a premium notebook. Even the iPhone's front camera has a higher resolution than that of the new MacBook.

5. Keyboard- The last compromise made with the new MacBook may not be much of an issue for some. To make the notebook as thin as it is, Apple had to lower the profile of the keyboard. Keys are shorter as a result, and some early hands-on reports find them to feel different from other keyboards.

While it takes a short while to get used to the key height and the new "butterfly" key design, reports say the keyboard is good to use after a while. It might be worth trying the keyboard in an Apple Store to determine how big of a compromise this is for each individual.

The good stuff :

The new MacBook is not all about compromise, Apple has engineered some pretty cool stuff, too. Here are five pluses of the new MacBook over the MacBook Air:

1. Retina Display - Folks have long wanted a high-resolution display on the Air, and Apple put a nice one on the MacBook. It has the tiniest of bezels around it, allowing the notebook to be roughly the same size as the 11-inch MacBook Air. It does this and still has a slightly bigger display.

2. Trackpad - MacBooks have long been famous for having nice, big trackpads and the new MacBook takes it up a notch. It's bigger than those on earlier MacBooks and offers a better all-over clicking surface. It also features the new Force Touch function which allows extra control in apps when pressed harder.

3. Keyboard - While some may not like the keyboard for the reasons mentioned earlier, Apple has spread the keys all the way to the edge of the device. This makes the keyboard wider and fully sized like those on larger laptops.

4. Thin, light - While making the MacBook so thin and light resulted in some compromises, many will find the trade-off worthwhile. The new MacBook weighs only two pounds and is almost as thin as the iPad Air 2.

5. More memory and storage - The MacBook comes standard with 8GB of memory for running apps, and 256GB of storage. These capacities are double those of the entry-level MacBook Air.

News Google Update : Meet Google’s New Chromebook Pixel

Google’s Chromebook Pixel has always been an aspirational machine meant to show off Chrome OS at its best. The new version, which Google announced today, continues this tradition.
 If you were hoping for a complete redesign, you’ll be disappointed, but just like the old Pixel, the new Pixel is the best Chromebook money can buy. And at the new starting point of $999, it’s a better value, too.

Google has kept the best from the original Pixel and improved all of the issues we found with the first one — battery life being the most important of those.

Let’s get the basics out of the way first. The new Pixel will come in two variants: a $999 Core i5 (2.2 GHz Broadwell-U) version with 8GB of RAM (up from 4GB in the original) and a 32GB SSD, and a $1,299 Core i7 “LS” version (2.4 GHz Broadwell-U) with 16GB of RAM and a 64GB SSD. Both use Intel’s HD Graphics 5500 GPU and weigh in at 3.3 lbs. Even Google admits that the LS edition (which it says stands for “ludicrous speed”) may be overkill for most, but he also noted that developers will surely find ways to do interesting things with this additional power.

Both of these new models are Wi-Fi-only. This time around, there are no LTE models. As a Google spokesperson told me, the company found that most people were tethering to their phones and the company wanted to “put resources elsewhere.”

Both of the new models are now available in the U.S. Google’s new online hardware store. The company hasn’t announced when the new Pixel will be available internationally, but we know it will be available in the UK in about a month’s time.

The first time you see the updated Chromebook Pixel, you’ll probably wonder if Google changed anything on the machine. On the outside, it looks almost exactly like the old one, with its understated aluminum housing and thin LED lightbar at the top of the lid. 

There are a few very small differences compared to the first version: The color of the metal housing is now a bit lighter, and the bottom of the laptop is kept off the ground with two lines of rubber at the front and back instead of four small nubs. But that’s it.

“We wanted to remain very honest to what we are trying to achieve,” Andrew Bowers, Google’s director of consumer hardware, told me when I asked him why Google decided to mostly stick with the original design. And that’s fair enough. Even today, the Pixel’s design looks pretty up-to-date and nobody is going to confuse it with a MacBook Air (it’s also too thick for that, though it’s now maybe a millimeter thinner than the original).

When you open the Pixel, you also won’t see any major changes, either. It still features the same good — and in my view slightly improved — keyboard, as well as the same beautiful (but also highly reflective) high-density 2560 x 1700 12.95-inch touchscreen display with a pixel density of 239 ppi (that’s a total of 4.3 million pixels).

It’s the inside of the Pixel that has been completely revamped. It now features a far more powerful 5th-generation Intel i5 processor. On Google’s Octane benchmark, the base model of the new Pixel scored 24,392 points compared to 21711 I got on the old one.

In daily usage, you probably won’t immediately notice this faster processor, but what you will notice is that the laptop remains cool at all times. The old Pixel would heat up pretty quickly under even the lightest load and the rather loud fans would kick in to cool it down. The new Pixel now has two fans, but I still haven’t been able to get them to kick in during normal usage.

Unlike Google’s earliest attempt at making its own Chromebook back in 2010, the Pixel still features a very responsive touchpad, too (and there’s no silliness around “Force Touch” here either).

Battery life and USB Type-C charging

Also improved is the Pixel’s battery life. While the old one would die after about five hours, Google claims the new one will run for about 12 hours. I haven’t quite been able to match that in the week I spent with the device, but I have been able to get about 10 hours of work done before I had to plug it in. Thanks to that, you could easily get through a full workday with the new Pixel and get in an hour or two of couch browsing.

To get to this kind of battery life, Google employed a couple of interesting strategies. The screen now uses content-adoptive backlight, for example, and it features a relatively new technology called panel self-refresh, which allows the GPU to save a bit of power when there isn’t a lot of fast-moving content on the screen. The keyboard backlight, too, will dim when you don’t use it for more than 30 seconds and then automatically turns on again when you start typing.

    You could easily get through a full workday with the new Pixel and still get in an hour or two of couch browsing.

The new Pixel now features a nifty fast-charging mode. With this, you can get about two hours of battery life out of a 15-minute charge. So when you are sitting at the airport and your Pixel is about to run out of juice because you forgot to charge at home, you can still get a decent amount of power into the battery before you board your plane (assuming you can find power, of course…). Charging the whole laptop takes about an hour-and-a-half.

The most interesting thing is how you charge, though. The Pixel now uses reversible USB Type-C ports on the left and right of the device, making this the first Chromebook — and of the first laptops in general — to support this next-gen version of USB.

Apple made a big deal about the new Type-C ports on its new Macbook earlier this week. But this is obviously an industry standard that many companies worked on, including Google, and it’s nice to see the industry come together to support this instead of the proprietary solutions that have dominated the laptop world for too long

“I think the real innovation that debuting here is the idea of universal charging,” Bowers told me. Nobody wants to carry around half a dozen different types of chargers every day, after all. Google’s product manager for the Pixel Adam Rodriguez also noted that now that most phones have standardized on micro-USB chargers (except for our friends at Apple, of course), it’s time something similar happened for laptops, too. USB Type-C can provide up to 100W of power. That’s enough for a high-end laptop, and because there are a lot of smarts in this system, the charger can easily step down to provide power to smartphones, too.

Type-C, of course, isn’t just about charging. It can also support displays and other peripherals through connectors. Google itself is launching a couple of these, including Type-C to USB, HDM and DisplayPort adapters. And because this is Google, the company is open-sourcing the hardware schematics of its adapters. Google provided us with a range of USB and display adapters for Display Port and HDMI. Suffice to say, they worked as promised. Google will charge $12.99 for its Type-C to the standard USB A plug cable and adapters. Adapters for HDMI and DisplayPort will cost $39.99.

Touch screen

Just like the first Pixel, the new one also features a touch-enabled, high-resolution display. There are no major changes here, but Google says it has the new screen shows more vibrant colors thanks to an improved sRGB color gamut.

I’ve used the original Pixel quite a bit, but I never really found the touch screen to be a major selling point. It works as expected, but I never really found myself drawn to it except for occasionally scrolling down a long page when I’m sitting on the couch. Maybe this will change, though, now that Google is bringing more Android apps to Chrome OS.

    Chrome OS is starting to feel more like a fully featured operating system.

The one thing I don’t like about the screen is how reflective it is. In many situations, you can deal with that by bringing up the screen brightness (though you sacrifice battery life then), but this isn’t a laptop you want to work on outside when the sun is shining.

What I am a big fan of, however, is that Google stuck to its guns and kept the 3:2 aspect ratio. While 16:9 or 16:10 is pretty much the standard now, I much prefer having a higher screen over a wider one. There is still enough screen real estate for those who want to do so, especially if you turn up the display resolution to a still very usable 1600 x 1062. At the maximum native resolution of 2560 x 1700, things get a little bit small for my eyes.

Lightbar :

The lightbar on the lid of the Pixel is still its most distinct design element, but with this update, Google has also brought some functionality to it. When the lid is closed, you can now tap on the laptop and the lightbar will show you the current battery level. It’s a small feature, but it shows that Google is getting the details right here. Unlike in the previous version, the lightbar now also stays illuminated while you’re using the laptop.
Still the best Chromebook money can buy

If Chrome OS feels limited, you can always run Ubuntu on it and get all the benefits of the hardware without the limitations of Chrome OS. Thanks to Google’s recent updates, though, Chrome OS is starting to feel more like a fully featured operating system — even when you’re not online. You still have to content with the limited hard disk space, but for many developers — who are the target market for this machine —  disk space is less of an issue than processor power and battery life.

Google will be the first to admit that a high-end Chromebook has limited market appeal. Just like with the old Pixel, it’s probably best to judge it for what it is: a great ChromeBook and a price that (now) seems pretty fair for the hardware quality you get.

New Product Launched : HP Unveils The Spectre x360, A 13-Inch Convertible

HP is looking to wow customers with its latest notebook, a touch-enabled, hybrid device called the Spectre x360. Featuring a machined-aluminium body, a thin profile, powerful internals, and long-battery life, the Spectre looks set to impress.

Hybrid devices have been a staple of the Windows 8 era but the new laptops coming onto the market seem to just now be coming into their own. That’s thanks to better than ever battery life, and improvements in screens and CPU power optimizations.

The Spectre x360 fits into this market very well, and HP seems to have focused heavily on the design and aesthetic of this machine. The device features a 0.6-inch profile and a clamshell formfactor.

However, the 13-inch FHD/QHD touchscreen display can bend over backwards, up to 360 degrees. Users can change the screen orientation depending in which way they use the machine, alternating between regular laptop and tablet styles of use.

HP is also touting the new hinges that the device uses, claiming they’ll last for the lifetime of the laptop without any of the problems that are traditionally found on this type of device.

One of the most important aspects that the manufacturer is touting, is the Spectre’s battery life. HP claims that the combination of efficient screens, CPU and Wi-Fi optimizations will allow the device to go more than 12 hours without a charge. Of course, this claim will need a lot of testing once the device hits markets.

The base i5 model with a 1080p screen starts at $899.99, while a range-topper i7 with a QHD screen and a 512GB SSD will end up costing you $1399.99.

The pen works with Acer’s exclusive pen-enabled software, Acer Hover Access, which is pre-installed on all models.

The device is powered by 4th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, has up to 512 GB of Solid State Drive with RAID-0 support and up to 8GB of memory. It runs on Windows 8.1 OS and claims to deliver up to 8 hours of battery life. The Aspire R 13 will be available at select Croma retail stores.
