New Update On Handset : OnePlus 2 Now Available 'Invite-Free' In India

The OnePlus 2 (Review) is now available invite-free in India. While OnePlus India had promised the smartphone will be available invite-free from midnight Friday, the company on Saturday issued a blog post saying the smartphone will only go on sale invite-free in India at 2pm IST on Monday.

OnePlus had last week following its Black Friday open sale announced the OnePlus 2 would be available invite-free forever starting midnight Friday across the world. It turns out that date wasn't applicable for India, with the invite-free status only official from Monday. The smartphone is available exclusively via Amazon India.
To recall, the OnePlus 2 bears the tagline "2016 flagship caller", and sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920x1080) display. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and coupled with an Adreno 430 GPU alongside 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB internal storage. It sports dual 4G Nano-SIM cards (dual-SIM dual standby), as well as USB Type-C connectivity (with the cable reversible at both ends).

On the photography front, the handset rocks a 13-megapixel rear-camera, and a 5-megapixel front facing shooter. The dual-SIM capable smartphone supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and other standard connectivity features. It runs Android-powered OxygenOS 2.0, though OxygenOS 2.1.2 is officially available as well.

It is priced at Rs. 24,999, while a 16GB OnePlus 2 variant with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM will be made available at a later date at Rs. 22,999.

To note, the OnePlus 2 has been made available via open sales (not requiring invites) in India on several occasions in the past, with the most recent being in October. OnePlus in October rolled out two smartphone coverage options in the form of B2X Service and B2X Protect for the OnePlus 2 in India.

New Update On Handset Launch : Android One failed In India; Could Google Possibly Avoid Failure With Version 2.0?

Android One was launched amid much fanfare in India last year. Aimed at the entry-level users of the emerging Indian market, Google had teamed up with three well-known low to mid-range players such as Karbonn, Micromax and Spice. The Android One failed. They didn’t sell well and many major retailers even refused to stock them. The news had it that eight major retailers which have 1800 stores between them refused to stock the devices.
Some reports have been pointing at Google making a comeback with the next version of Android One with Lava. This is one of the reasons why new India-born CEO Sundar Pichai is here. Here’s what Google could avoid to ensure that Android version 2.0 manages to make a mark in India’s fierce mobile world.

Focus on hardware, software can’t be the selling point
Earlier, Google launched three phones namely,  Spice Android One Dream, Karbonn Sparkle V, and Micromax Canvas A1. Interestingly, due to Google’s list of rules, all three had the same low-end specs. The only differentiating factor was the brand name. Yes, they were almost identical in specs, and all you had to do is decide which brand you prefer. The hardware requirements were a small list of approved processors, cameras and other components. While reports have already been pointing out at this, it would be nice if Google went ahead and brought some lax to its rules. This will help the companies bring in better specs at affordable prices and eventually help compete with the likes of Xiaomi.

Now, the importance of Android One goes well beyond what you see. There is a reason why Android One is so important to India. China and India are the fastest growing smartphone markets, but China is a wasteland when it comes to Google service and generating revenue from them. The onslaught of Chinese vendors and their forked OS versions coupled with great hardware are getting popular in India too. To ensure not to see the same fate in India, Google is yet again trying its hand at revamped Android One. Android One is probably how Google wants to take its services to be at the forefront.
Phones models at varying budget prices
With Android One, Google is targeting new entry-level users. However, the entry-level markets have spruced up consumer expectations. A sub-Rs 3000 smartphone is a great idea, but if another device is offering much more for Rs 1000 more, wouldn’t consumer prefer that. Arguably, there are chances that first time users in rural areas may prefer a really low-end phone with alphanumeric keys. This makes it imperative to have different models and at varying price points. Thus, looking at Android One from a broader prospective is crucial.

Now, Google already has phones across price brackets. But for Android One to become a go-to phone under Rs 3000, will have to be a mix of many factors.
Brand matters
In India, brand matters. One may want to opt for a budget device, but are always looking for a value for money product from a decent brand. A Spice or Karbonn are often related to cheap, low end devices. This isn’t something what many users are looking for – especially if a Moto E from a seasoned OEM such as Motorola is selling at Rs 5000.

Online, offline marketing tactics
These days, we are seeing new ways of marketing handsets. From Xiaomi to the latest Qiku, all have formed newer forms to attract audiences. Google will have to bring more to the table in terms of marketing and selling the phones. Moreover, the previous phones were launched exclusive to an online site initially.

After they failed to capture market share, the devices went to offline stores. It should be noted that the phones are targeted at tier 2 and tier 3 cities, and offline channels would have played a bigger role in selling the phones if launched simultaneously on both platforms. Today, Android One already carried a failed tag, and wooing audiences will be even more difficult.

News Handset Launch Update : Next-Gen Android One Phone Launches In India For $176

The Lava Pixel V1 offers a solid value for the price, combining mid-range hardware with the latest Android software updates from Google.

Google's Android One hardware partners are beginning stage two of the low-cost phone strategy: Say hello to the Lava Pixel V1.

The Android One handset launched online in India on Monday for ₹11,350, which works out to $176.71. And for under two-hundred dollars the Pixel V1 in some ways rivals smartphones that arrived just two years ago for much more money.

Running Android 5.1 Lollipop, the dual-SIM 3G Pixel V1 is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core chip made by MediaTek and is paired with 2 GB of memory. There's 32 GB of on-board storage and the capacity can be expanded by another 32 GB with a microSD card.

Lava says even though the Pixel V1 has 5.5-inch display, the phone feels like a model with a 5-inch screen because it's not very wide. Don't expect a full HD screen though: At this price, you're looking at 1280 x 720 resolution.

There's also some compromise on the camera sensors. Lava advertises the phone as having a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera but those numbers are boosted by software enhancements; the actual sensors are 8 and 5 megapixel models. The rear sensor does have an f/2.0 aperture and 1.4 micron pixels, however, which should allow for solid low-light photos.

Aside from the hardware and appealing off-contract price, the software has a key benefit. Since the phone is certified for the Android One program, software updates are directly controlled by Google, similar to the company's Nexus line of phones. That means there's no or little waiting to get the latest version of Android installed.

Having launched last September, Google's Android One program hasn't yet made a major impact on the smartphone market.

The strategy, however, is sound: Work with hardware partners in upcoming and emerging markets to offer high-value handsets that aren't saddled with carrier control. It's too soon to say if the approach is going to be a success but Google and its partners are on the right track.

Other Android partners can surely offer less expensive phones that have more capabilities, but none of them can provide the software update benefits of Android One.

News Space Science Update : NOD For ISRO To Launch Five British Satellites On Friday

Indian rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) XL variant will launch five British satellites on Friday night, said an Indian space agency official.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) official said the Launch Authorization Board (LAB) at its meeting on Tuesday has given the go ahead for the July 10 night rocket launch.

According to him, the four stage/engine PSLV rocket in XL variant is slated to blast off at 9.58 p.m. on Friday and the 62.5-hour countdown is expected to start at 7.28 a.m. on Wednesday.

Of the five British satellites, together weighing around 1,440 kg, three are identical DMC3 optical earth observation satellites weighing 447 kg. These will be put into a 647-km sun-synchronous orbit.

Of the other two satellites, CBNT-1 weighs 91 kg and also is an optical earth observation technology demonstration micro-satellite, while the De-Orbit Sail weighs 7 kg. This is an experimental nano satellite for demonstration of large thin membrane sail and drag deorbiting.

The three DMC3 and the CBNT-1 satellites are built by Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. The De-Orbit Sail is built by Surrey Space Centre.

According to ISRO, accommodating the three DMC3 satellites each with a height of about three meters within the existing payload fairing or the heat shield of the PSLV was a challenge. Thus, a circular L-adaptor and a triangular Multiple Satellite Adapter-Version 2 (MSA-V2) were newly designed and realized by ISRO for this specific purpose.

France's SPOT 7 satellite weighing 714 kg was the heaviest single foreign satellite carried by a PSLV rocket till now. It was launched on June 30, 2014.

New Product Launch : Xiaomi Mi 4 64GB Model To Land In India On February 24 For Rs 23999

If you were holding back from buying the 16GB Xiaomi Mi 4 smartphone in anticipation of the 64GB model, the company has announced that the higher capacity version is all set to make its debut in India. The handset will go on sale from February 24 and it’ll carry a price tag of Rs 23999.

The 16GB Xiaomi Mi 4 is one of the cheapest flagship phones on the market, but it does have a few downsides. Firstly, the internal memory is all you get as there’s no microSD card slot and you’ll have to rely on external accessories such as USB OTG for connecting storage devices. And out of 16GB, just about 12GB is available for hoarding content.
That certainly isn’t enough for most users and brings the need for a higher storage model. The difference in retail amounts between the 16GB and 64GB options is Rs 3000 which is pretty reasonable, but the 5.5-inch OnePlus One does have the upper hand here since it offers the same 64GB storage and at Rs 21999. What gives Xiaomi’s handset the advantage is that it comes in a compact design which is easy to use in a single hand.

The Mi 4 features a metal frame with a 5-inch 1080p display fitted on the front. There are dual high-quality Sony cameras onboard as well, with an 8MP selfie shooter and a 13MP main imager. Additionally, the phone offers 3GB RAM and a 3080mAh battery with quick charge support.

Xiaomi Mi 4 specs roundup:

– 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 SOC
– 3GB RAM
– 16GB/64GB non-expandable storage
– Android 4.4 KitKat w/ MIUI V6
– 13MP rear camera, 8MP front shooter
– 3080mAh battery

The 64GB Xiaomi Mi 4 smartphone will also be exclusive to Flipkart and you can expect to see limited stock on February 24.

New Product Launch : Microsoft XBOX 360 Gets Price Cuts Across The Table Base Bodel Starting From 210 Doller

Microsoft has launched a new 500 GB model for their Xbox 360 console bundle in India at just Rs 19,990 and adds in two games, Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Call of Duty: Ghosts along with one month Xbox Live Gold membership as well.  Along with the launch, the company has also announced price cuts for various Xbox 360 versions making it affordable for game lovers.

The price for the 4GB standalone Xbox 360 model which was Rs 15, 990 before is now Rs 12,990. The 250 GB Xbox 360 model with Kinect which was Rs 31, 990 prior is now available for Rs 29, 990. The 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect which was available for Rs 26, 990 is now available for Rs 21, 990.

The devices are available with Amazon India.

Unfortunately last month, Microsoft’s Xbox was attacked by hacker group Lizard Squad. Microsoft’s Xbox Live and Sony’s PlayStation Networks both experienced user connection problems on Christmas Day.

Both companies expected heavy use as people who received Microsoft Xbox players or Sony PlayStations on Christmas tried to hook up. The problems may have been exacerbated by Sony’s decision to let consumers download the controversial movie The Interview through Xbox Video as well as other online sources.

New Application Update : WhatsApp Nervous About Free Voice Calling Feature Launch In India

WhatsApp is testing its free voice calling feature through a small number of people in India, possibly having sped up this launch to meet Hike’s challenge. But there’s not much reason for the former to worry about seeing as its second largest user base resides on these shores, while the latter is still trying to catch up to it.

The free voice calling function appears to be available on invite-only basis at present. What this means is that you have to get a call through WhatsApp from someone who already has it. The release has been restricted to Android users for now and is reported to be accessible through the newest version 2.11.508 of the messenger app.
The software update is not available through Google Play Store, but can be downloaded as an APK file via the official WhatsApp website section for Android. The news and images were picked up by GSMArena through a Reddit member dubbed pradnesh07 who was able to use it on a Nexus 5 smartphone running on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

According to the tipster on Reddit, some people started seeing the VoIP feature merely after picking up a voice call made through WhatsApp and then restarting. But some folks may have to reinstall the application before being able to enjoy free voice calling. The invite-based launch makes it clear that things are being taken slowly.

If you’ve miraculously or accidentally been treated to WhatsApp’s voice calling function, then you will notice an icon for it beside the Chats and Contacts tabs. But for some, trying to dial up a contact using the free VoIP calling option is said to only bring up a list of apps through which the call can be placed, including Google’s stock dial-pad.
Telecom companies across India are already acting like cry babies over the fact that customers are showing increasing preference for web-based applications like WhatsApp, Skype, Line and Viber to communicate with others. They’ve taken up the issue of regulating such Internet-based services with TRAI in order to staunch the loss of SMS and voice revenues.

It’s possible that this is one reason for WhatsApp having released the free voice calling feature in a limited way. It will also give the company time and feedback, both which will be needed to iron out any noisome bugs.

News Product Update : Xiaomi Is Plannig To Launch 4G Device Mi4 In India Today

Chinese handset maker Xiaomi will launch its 4G device Mi4 in India today to strengthen its position in the booming smartphone market here. Earlier, in an exclusive interaction with IndianExpress.com, Xiaomi India head Manu Jain had hinted that the price of the upcoming Mi 4 smartphone would be around Rs 20,000.

The company, which entered the Indian market last year, has launched Redmi 1S, Redmi Note and Mi3 in partnership with e-commerce major Flipkart.

India is Xiaomi’s largest market after China.

Often called the Apple of China, Xiaomi launched the Mi4 in July last year. However, the device did not hit the Indian market. Last week, Xiaomi had launched its flagship smartphones, the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro, at an event in Beijing.
Xiaomi Mi 4 smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 441 ppi along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU with 3GB RAM. Running Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system sugarcoated with MIUI 6, the phone will offer a 13MP rear camera along with an 8M front camera. The rear camera will support 4K video recording.

On the connectivity front, Xiaomi Mi 4 will support 4G LTE network along with 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth and is powered by a 3080 mAh battery.

According to IDC, in the quarter ended September 2014, Samsung led the Indian smartphone market with 24 per cent share, followed by Micromax with 20 per cent, Lava and Karbonn at 8 per cent each and Motorola at 5 per cent

OnePlus One Will Be Bought By Lucky Invite-Laden People in India

OnePlus has made its official jump into the Indian market and from here; all the lucky (really lucky) invitee-winners can buy their own 'One' for Rs 21,999 for the 64 GB model. No sign of the 16 GB and that for all reasons, make complete sense.

As we've mentioned earlier, OnePlus has exclusively tied up with Amazon, online seller in India to sell the devices, albeit to anyone who manages to grab the elusive invite. OnePlus, via its commonly thronged forum, has declared that any OnePlus One smartphone bought by Indian consumers will get all kinds of after-sale services, including warranty. Buyers in India should be privy to the fact that the phone will be available via invite-only sales model and those will be confined to buying One Plus One in the country only.

OnePlus One sports a 5.5 inch full-HD display, running on CyanogenMod version software based on Android 4.4 KitKat. We're not sure, if OnePlus will be able to offer the CyanogenMod on the smartphone, after an unexpected turn of events. However, the company has already promised future version updates coming from the house of OnePlus which will now create its custom builds for its device, specifically for the Indian market.

It packs a quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset paired with 3 GB RAM. On the imaging front, there are 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras. Storage wise, the phone comes in 16/64 GB options (around 7.5/54 GB usable) and non expandable. The big size device gets a big size 3100 mAh battery with fast charging feature.

The company is not planning to offer many units in the country; hence the rush to grab invite has become fairly evident with no sign of slowing down. After all the numerous queries and pleas, OnePlus is here in India and with its offering experience they want to change the way a phone looks. In addition to the product announcement, OnePlus has shared its intention to sell the phone via pre-order model in the country versy soon.

Will Apple Launch A Budget iPhone For India This Year?

A inexpensive iPhone is a contradiction, or at least Apple company had people believe that for a while. That was until New samsung went to the top of the perch and Android operating system became the de-facto OS for mobile phones across the world. The inventory exchange too has proven a deficiency of assurance in the iPhone manufacturer and the business's inventory has been moving since Sept 2012. All of this has driven a rumour that the Cupertino-based system and press massive is making a less expensive iPhone focused particularly at growing marketplaces like Chinese suppliers and Native indian.

The newest inclusion to this rumour is from iPhone case manufacturer Tactus. A writing on the business's formal weblog has an image of what they declare is the returning protect of the ‘cheap iPhone’. The white-colored thermoplastic returning, proven in the image, has rounded factors and pointed amount control buttons much like the traditional iPod. The style seems to be a rollback as the present plants of iPhones have cup or aluminum supports and have implemented streamlined, straighter collections along the edges. Tactus also considers that the cellphone will come in 5 color choices – dark, white-colored, red, red and yellow-colored. While Apple company has combined out iPods in various colors the iPhones have always been dressed in white wines, colors of dark or metal aluminum layers. The rumours that Apple company would toss in a sprint of color for the price range iPhone is credible but the choice of colors informs us of Nokia’s scheme rather than Apple’s.
Now, about the hardware; Tactus statements that the cellphone will game an A5 processor like the iPad Small and will have a 3.5-inch display instead of a 4-inch display like the newest version of the iPhone or many of the other price range mobile phones currently in the marketplace. The photographic camera is said to be a 5 MP present shooter and there is no term on the top side photographic camera or whether 1080p producing would be possible. If the cellphone does indeed have the A5 processor like the iPad Small then 1080p producing could be a probability.

Tactus has also believed on the price and the release time frame. Their expectation is that the cellphone would cost between $230 and $300 (Rs 12,000 and Rs 16,000 approx).  Given that the ‘cheap iPhone’ is being made for marketplaces like Chinese suppliers and Native indian it is secure to believe that these are not US costs. This would mean that the iPhone will end up being less expensive than mobile phones like the New samsung Universe Huge and the Micromax Fabric HD. That is a questions that we find very hard to believe as Apple company Native indian is currently promoting a three creation old cellphone, the iPhone 4, at Rs 26,000. The stated release time frame for the product is said to be Oct Fifteenth, 2013. Last season Apple company released the iPad Small on Oct Twenty third, so, the think that they will come up with another ‘budget’ system around the same time this season does not seem to be far-fetched.

Apple’s exclusivity is a great marketing technique and is something that they would not give up so quickly. The company has also been effective in disposal a huge number of iPhone 4s onto the Native indian customer resulting in incredibly powerful sales. They will definitely slam up their providing as they look to develop in Native indian and Chinese suppliers but will it be the cellphone that Tactus describes? We question it.

Aakash 2 Supply May Miss The March 31, 2013 Deadline

Here is a bad piece of news for those looking forward to the accessibility to the Aakash 2 tablets – a reasoning of doubt looms over the possibilities of the second provide due date being met, according to reviews.

Canada-based source Datawind, which was expected to provide 1 lakh models of the Aakash item by April 31,2013, actually just handled a meager 20,000 models until a week ago, as per HRD authorities. The three month-extension in the provide due date came about after the preliminary due date of Dec 31 was not met.  Allegedly, at present the ministry is to get a review from a panel advancing by Rajendra Pawar that investigates the Nationwide Objective on Knowledge through Information and Interaction Technology (NMEICT). This shall be done before they decide on the prospective buyers of the Aakash 2

Concerned about the wait, the HRD ministry wrote to IIT Bombay that is the performing body to make sure that Datawind resources 1 lakh models of the Aakash item by April 31. IIT-B has to see that Datawind stick to the circumstances “in correspondence and spirit”, failing of which would encourage action against them.

Quoting Pallam Raju, Partnership Individual Source Growth Reverend, the review added, "Aakash is a item which will allow you to access the content. But there are others who have come up...students will pick up whatever provides the objective better and cost-effective. We will work on the item as long as growth and progression of the item is involved."
Aakash 2 was released among much pomp and excitement in Nov last year. The Long lasting Objective of Native indian to U. s. Countries, New You are able to, organised a function to reveal and release the Aakash 2 at the U. s. Countries. H.E. Ban Ki-moon, Assistant Common of the U. s. Countries, was the Primary Visitor at the Unique Occasion that was joined by over 500 visitors, such as 65 Ambassadors/PRs, press associates, NGOs and choose members of the Native indian group.

The item created quite a mix in Dec, when it was revealed that learners will not get the preliminary 1 lakh models of the Aakash 2. Instead, the preliminary lot will be used for examining and strengthening instructors.

In an itemized declaration to the Lok Sabha, the Partnership Individual Source Growth Reverend had mentioned that there is currently no provide to provide the preliminary models of the Aakash-2 to learners. “Presently, there is no provide in this respect... In the first stage one lakh tablets are for the objective of examining and instructor power. They would not be allocated to learners in the first stage,” he said. He was requested whether the govt organized to provide Aakash 2 tablets to learners, especially those from inadequate background scenes and non-urban areas for free.

As for the tablet’s specifications, Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO of Datawind, the maker of the Aakash 2, mentioned that some parts of the item were acquired from across the world. The touchscreen display screen, for example, was produced in North america, motherboards and kitting were produced in Chinese suppliers and the final set up and development was done in Native indian.

Report : Motorola X Phone Could Launch In July With Touch-Sensitive Back Panel

The Samsung X Cellphone is very much real and will start delivery in This season this season, according to resources within Samsung. The X Cellphone has been distributing in the rumour generators for quite some time now and is predicted to be revealed, or at the very least, taunted during Google I/O in May. That would also be a good launchpad for the approximated This season release date.

Rumours in the past have recommended the unit will have an edge-to-edge full HD show, a strong or strong covering and a long-lasting power supply, something that Google seems has been often ignored by other producers. It is also said to be presenting the Sony designs Exmor RS indicator that is used in the Sony designs Xperia Z.

The first phone to be created by Google and Samsung, after the former obtained the latter’s business last season, will give you the freedom to choose the unit and then choose which service provider you want go with. Just like how Dell modified the PC game in the 90's, Google wants to develop mobile phones to purchase and then offer them at a very cost-effective price tag, which will not be limited to a agreement.
According to Android operating system and Me’s resources within Samsung, the first retail store X Cellphone system will go for selling this summer months. The website says that the Samsung system that was released to Vietnamese weblog Tinh te last week was one of the X Cellphone designs. The source said that the released system is an previously design and the design has gone through some minor changes since then.

One of the resources further mentioned that it will be an cost-effective smart phone in the line of thinking of the Nexus sequence. Google and Samsung will offer mobile mobile phones for the same prices that people are willing to pay for the present flagships on contract; however, the X Cellphone line-up will not be linked with a two-year agreement.

The returning of the first “X Phone” is said to look almost the same as the released design. However, this is no common returning panel; Google has applied a touch-sensitive key in the Samsung company brand returning there. Samsung has involved a identical function in its Backflip phone. This rumour is in range with the certain program from Google that includes rear system contact manages. There is no term on what exactly the returning button’s features are, but speculation recommend that it could be used to search through websites and also be used to release speech orders.

Google’s technique may seem implausible at this time, but the nearest example to what it is trying is when Dell dramatically modified the PC market with the network marketing design and the built-to-order characteristics of its systems. Google is trying something identical and wants to generate an ultra-affordable mobile phone that joins to gadgets like Google Cup. One of the resources said that a Google Watch is also in the works along with more products that will force the package.
