£199 Acer C7 Chromebook On Sale Now In The UK

Summary: Acer has a new Chrome OS-based device on the shelves in the UK, priced at just £199. But can it go up against its better-specced but slightly more expensive rival in the form of the Samsung Series 3 Chromebook?

 Acer has launched its latest Chromebook system that uses the cloud-based Google Firefox OS the UK, costing just £199.

The laptop includes an 11.6-inch 1366x768 pixel HD show, 2GB RAM, a 320GB drive generate for storage space and an Apple Primary processer, according to Sundar Pichai, mature v. p. of Firefox and Applications at Google.

"The new Acer C7 Chromebook provides a hassle-free processing encounter with speed, built-in security and the convenience of automatic up-dates. It features a full-size key pad, fully clickable track pad, an extra shiny 11.6-inch show and over 3.5 time of lifestyle cycle of power supply," Pichai had written in a writing on Thursday. "Powered by an Apple Primary processer, the Acer Chromebook is fast—boots up in 18 seconds, continues immediately and high-definition video clips perform easily."

However, while Pichai said the product would deliver with an Apple Primary processer, Amazon's record of the product shows the included processer as a 1.1GHz Apple Celeron.

In addition to the internal storage space, buyers also get 100GB of Google Drive storage space, no cost for two decades. After this, Drive costs around $5 (£3.15) per month for 100GB of space. Other key components specifications include 3 USB slots, a full-size HDMI and VGA port and an Ethernet plug. It is available to buy in the UK from Amazon. com or directly from the Google Play shop.

The system is at the budget end of laptops computer variety, for valid reason, as it provides Google cloud-based OS and services, but no traditional pc encounter, as you would find on a standard laptop. It does, however, allow for off-line storage space of photos, music and video clips. Applications are downloadable from the Firefox web app shop.

The C7 goes up against another recently launched Chromebook in the form of the New samsung Series 3, costing £229.

Unlike the Acer, Samsung's offering comes with a dual-core ARM-based Exynos 5 Double processer, display storage space (limited to 16GB) and 2GB of RAM. It also comes with the same two-years of no cost Google Drive storage space up to 100GB as the Acer C7. New samsung also statements it has a 6.5-hour lifestyle cycle of power supply, besting the stated 3.5 time of the Acer.
