Apple Event Gallery : iPad Mini, New Hardware Unveiled

Summary: As usual in previous Apple events, CEO Tim Cook is hosting an event to show off new Apple products. But everyone wass waiting for the 7.9-inch iPad mini.
 
As usual Apple CEO hosts the Apple event where execs show off the company's new hardware.
 
Here's one surprise. Tim Cook introduced an upgraded new iPad which many are calling the iPad 4. The major change is a new A6X chip inside the tablet's new dual-core CPU that's combined with quad-core graphics. According to Apple, it is up to twice as fast as the previous-generation A5X chip.

To no surprise, Tim Cook unveils the 7.9-inch iPad mini. It weighs 0.68 pounds - 50 percent lighter than the full-sized iPad.
 It includes
- A dual-core A5 processor
- FaceTime HD front-side camera
- 5 megapixel iSight camera on the back
- LTE

1024 pixels by 768 pixels -- so same resolution as first- and second-gen iPad. Schiller attacks the Nexus' 7-inch display versus iPad 7.9-inch display, which is 35 percent larger.
It will include 16GB of storage and Wi-Fi with a price tag of $329.

The new iMac will include USB 3 now with dual or quad-intel Core i5 or i7 Ivy Bridge, with Intel HD Graphics 4000, and up to 16GB of RAM. Starts at 2.5Ghz dual-core i5 w/4GB of RAM and 500GB HDD for $599.

The new Reception Desk Mac is just 5-mm thick which is 80 percent thinner than current models.

Phil Shiller unveils Apple's new 13-inch MacBook Pro. The most-hyped feature is its Retina Display. It starts at $1,199

For the 21.5 inch model with 2.7ghz i5 chip with Mouse or Trackpad. Starts at $1,299. They ship in November. The 27-inch is starting at $1,799 and is coming in December.
