News Instagram Update : Instagram Will Allow ‘Search’ For Web Users

In 2013, Instagram moved from an app-only platform to a full-feed experience for web users. Through the years, they have made many intricate changes to the service. Now, Instagram has added the Search tool to Instagram for web via which users can now browse accounts, search for hashtags, locations, and user accounts right from the desktop. The search box is displayed in the middle of the header at the top of the page.
“Web search is part of a broader commitment to improving discovery across our platforms,” an Instagram spokesperson told Forbes. “With 70 million photos shared to Instagram each day, if something is happening in the world, it’s likely being captured on Instagram.”

In the past, Instagram introduced a new web design for the desktop as well as for mobile. According to a report by The Verge, the new web design will now display three large images in each row, as opposed to the five smaller images it displays at the moment on a profile page on the desktop. The collage on top of the bio is removed as well. The report points out that the grid of cover images is now at the top and Instagram has also opted out with most of the borders and rounded edges and will go with circular profile pictures.
The redesign of Instagram for the web looks similar to profile pages in its mobile app. In addition, the user’s profile pictures, posts, followers and following on the web version are in the same style as on the mobile. The new layout will be present on hashtag pages as well and similar design updates will be present on the desktop feed and mobile profiles too.
