Ericsson Looking At Nokia Siemens Division Purchase

Summary: Nokia Siemens is far from being in great shape. Ericsson, free from the Sony shackles, could be the top candidate to make a bid for the joint venture.

Ericsson, the greatest provider of cellular system facilities, could be a primary applicant to buy out the company assistance techniques department of its competing Nokia Siemens Systems, Reuters revealed via Down Jackson cables these days.

Nokia Siemens, a combined 50 % each share project between Finnish Nokia Corp. and Germany's Siemens AG, is not exactly in the best form. Set for a large "global reorientating strategy," it is reducing wide sections of its company to preserve money.

The company said in Nov it will cut just shy of a one fourth of its employees -- around 17,000 tasks -- in a bid to preserve €1 billion dollars ($1.4bn) by the end of 2013.

But Ericsson, which was lately free of its own partnership shackles from Panasonic, is likely not the only prospective buyer. U.S. telecommunications manufacturer Amdocs is allegedly seeking the company assistance device, which provides e-commerce alternatives for cellular networks and telecommunications, according to a Dow Jackson resource acquainted with the issue.

A cope is not predicted to be right around the area, however.
