News Moto Handset Update : Motorola Moto E 4G Version Could Launch In India By May

US-based Motorola is hopeful of introducing the 4G version of Moto E smartphone in India by May this year, pricing it under Rs. 10,000 as it looks to compete with brands such as Yu and Xiaomi.

The company had announced the global launch of 3G and 4G versions of the new Moto E in more than 50 countries in Asia, North America, Europe and Latin America.

The unlocked 4G-enabled handset is available for $149.99 (INR 9,400) in the U.S. while the 3G version is priced at $119.99 (INR 7,500).
The 4G version of the handset would compete with Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G (INR 9,999), Yu's Yureka (INR 8,999) and Lenovo's A6000 (INR 6,999).

With increasing usage of data services and telecom firms preparing to offer 4G services, handset makers are also lining up devices at affordable price points to tap the opportunity.

On Tuesday, Motorola launched the second generation of Moto E that includes Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU and advanced graphics. Priced at INR 6,999, the new Moto E will be available exclusively on e-commerce marketplace Flipkart from tomorrow.

Running on Android's latest Lollipop operating system, the 3G handset features a 4.5-inch screen and 5-megapixel rear camera. The phone has a 2,390 mAh battery.

Users will explore Moto experiences such as Moto Display for updates, notifications and Moto Migrate to easily transfer photos, videos and contacts with the new Moto E.
