Micromax Delivers Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update For A110 Canvas 2

Looks like Micromax has kept its word about the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean for their A110 Canvas 2 smartphone. The update, which was promised for this week, is now available through the Micromax FTP server or on the phone's dedicated section on the XDA Developers forums.  

The Jally Bean upgrade was not intended to be an over-the-air upgrade as informed to us by Micromax a week ago. So customers will have to display the ROM personally. There is a step-by-step guide for the procedure on the XDA line. It has to be mentioned that a incorrect phase in the procedure could possibly lead to a bricked Fabric 2. However, customers have the relatively easier choice of strolling into the closest Micromax service center to get their up-dates.

The upgrade, which delivers offerings like Search engines Now, a Venture Butter-optimised UI, off-line speech writing and extended announcements, lamps in at 282MB in size. It has also allegedly eliminated the M! Store app, which offered accessibility some of Micromax’s in-house applications. Lastly, there are some new wall picture and a new plan which were seen in the Micromax A116 Fabric HD. 
Before the roll-out of the formal upgrade, Fabric 2 customers had to depend on third-party ROMs from other producers to get Jelly Bean on their mobile phones. However, that usually intended negating the assurance or setting up software that is not effectively optimized for the cellphone.

The A110 Fabric 2 was published in Oct 2012 and thanks to the release of the Fabric HD is starting to look a bit long in the teeth. However, in the months following its release, it has turned out to be a very popular cellphone for the Native indian producer.

It is a dual-SIM system, operated by 1GHz MediaTek MT6577 dual-core processer and has 512MB of RAM. In the picture division, the A110 Fabric 2 features in an 8-megapixel auto-focus main present shooter associated with a dual-LED display and a VGA front-facing system. Both these factors have been taken over the A116 as well. The smart phone comes with a 2,000 mAh power supply.
