HTC 8X Could Be Firm's First Windows Phone 8 Handset

The HTC 8X could be the name for the Taiwanese company's first Windows Cell phone 8 smart phone, as a published papers appears online.

We've previously heard speculation that HTC's first Windows Cell phone 8 devices had been code-named Rio, Conform and Peak – and the HTC Windows Cell phone 8X appear to be the street name for the Conform.

The details comes via a couple of twitter posts which claim to show the home page of the new handset's quick guide guide, disclosing the name of the smart phone, plus an annotated plan of the top side of the device.

It's got control buttons and stuff :

The tweeter in question is known as Football4PDA, who is believed to be connected to XDA Designers and who also published an picture of the HTC Conform last week.

Unfortunately the annotated picture of the Windows Cell phone 8X doesn't offer any excitement, observing the mobile phone will sport a front side experiencing photographic camera, power/lock key at the top with a volume musician and photographic camera shutter control buttons to the right, plus a USB plug on the base and the familiar Windows Cell phone touch control buttons below the screen.

The HTC 8X is expected to appear at the end of Sept, ahead of the formal release of Windows Cell phone 8 in Oct, so we'll keep our eyes and hearing open for more details.
