Google Teaches "I'm Feeling Lucky" Button Some New Tricks

Ever since Look for Google renewed its search engine optimization home-page with the release of Look for Google Immediate, which reveals results as you type in your question, their unique “I’m sensation lucky” option was made repetitive. The option records for a small share of Look for Google queries and is more of useless than anything else, but rather than completely doing away with it the company has trained it some new techniques.

If you head over to Look for Google right now and float your pointer over the “I’m sensation lucky” option it will whirl to display a different ‘emotion’ -- instead of fortunate the option will read I’m sensation starving, creative, stylish, confused, and so on. Hitting the option takes you to a Look for Google service related to that feelings.

For example, Lucky causes Look for Google Logo, Wonderful causes the World Amazing things Venture which uses Look for Google Charts data, Outstanding causes the Hubble Telescope page in Look for Google World, Artistic causes a selection in the Look for Google Art Venture, Trendy reveals you hot queries on Look for Google Styles, Hungy provides up a list of close by dining establishments with Google+Local Zagat scores, Puzzled causes the Look for Google a Day site.

Of course, Look for Google is not throwing as anything you’d want to use for search. Rather it’s just a brilliant way to show off the various tasks it has or helps run, while keeping up with its custom of including happy easter time ! to its products. Here are a few others you might remember:
  • Anagram: Searching for anagram causes Google to suggest "nag a ram".
  • Do a barrel roll: Try googling "do a barrel roll" to see your search results to roll across the screen.
  • Recursion: Searching for recursion causes Google to suggest "recursion" once again.
  • Searching for "the answer to life the universe and everything": A reference to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
  • Askew: Type in tilt or askew and Google will slant your search results in an interesting way.
  • Zerg Rush: typing zerg rush and a swarm of enemies shaped like the letter "O" will begin to fall from the top of the browser window.
