Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is one of the best shooters of 2014. PC gamers who have yet to give the game a spin will have the chance to do so as Activision has chosen to make the multiplayer free-to-play on Steam for the weekend.
The multiplayer will feature several game modes and 13 maps for players to enjoy. According to the Call of Duty website, any progress made during this time, will be carried over to the full game should players choose to make a purchase and go all in. Furthermore, we should point out that both the standard and digital Pro editions are up for sale right now.
In addition, PC gamers can look forward to the newest DLC for Advanced Warfare: "Havoc." It is expected to make its way to Steam on Feb. 26.

"It's time to put your exoskeleton abilities to the test on the PC. Beginning now and running until Sunday, February 22nd 1 p.m. PST, Steam users can try Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Multiplayer for free! Customize your loadout, choose from a diverse selection of game modes, and do battle on all 13 of the base Multiplayer maps."
Will Steam gamers jump at this opportunity?
Call of Duty games are usually more popular on consoles than on the PC. No matter how much Activision has tried to break the PC market with Call of Duty in a similar way it did with the console market, the company has always managed to fail. For some reason, Activision just can't seem to resonate with PC gamers when it comes down to the franchise.
With this in mind, we doubt this trial version of Advanced Warfare will be successful this weekend. In all honesty, there are so many better shooters on the PC to play, shooters that are more than just running around a map and shooting other players in the face.
