Summary: Carphone Warehouse, the same
retailer that outed the Nexus 4 ahead of its launch on Monday, has again
stolen a march on Google by inviting customers to preorder their units.
The UK device store Carphone Factory has started out preorders for the Nexus 4, Google newest leading Android os smart phone.
The LG-made Nexus 4 was formally revealed on Thursday. It is a highly-specified program that comes at a lower cost than anything similar on the market: £239 for the 8GB edition and £279 for the 16GB edition. It is due for launch on 13 Nov.
Even Google own Play Store is not yet providing preorders for the product, instead only allowing individuals sign-up their interest for now. However, Carphone Factory — the same store that 'accidentally' detailed the Nexus 4 before its launch — is now allowing individuals preorder it on agreement with the providers O2 and United kingdom.
With both providers, this indicates the phone will be free on two-year agreements of at least £31 monthly.
The Nexus 4 comes with almost all the additional features, such as a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, 2GB of RAM and the Android os 4.2 os, still known as Jam Vegetable. However, it does not have LTE abilities.
In the UK, only EE provides '4G' LTE at this time, so the effect of the omission will be restricted.
The Nexus line of Android os gadgets includes close relationships between Google and a range of producers — New samsung is making the new Nexus 10 product, for example, and Asus makes the extremely effective Nexus 7.
Nexus mobile phones and pills are the first to get up-dates to the Android os managing program, as they use the inventory variations of Android os without manufacturers' specialised themes. This has chimed with their conventional part as developer-oriented gadgets, although the strongly low costs Google has been adhering on them lately indicates the company is seeking them directly at customers.
