LG is bringing its brand new curved phone to the United States smartphone market.
Sprint, the third or the fourth largest (depending on who you ask) will be the first to distribute the new LG G Flex 2 in United States. The G Flex 2 or Flex2 is an Android-based smartphone with a curved screen, and front panel. A no-slouch phone, the new G Flex is powered by a latest Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 810, and can shoot ‘quality’ photos and videos with its 13-megapixel back facing camera.

Another notable feature of the G Flex 2 is its mobile operating system, the latest Android 5.0, or also called ‘Lollipop’.
The new Android version offers a new interface called ‘Material Design’ — which is neater, and more consistent with Google’s native or web services. The Lollipop OS on G Flex 2 is similar to the original or stock Android 5.0 from Google, but with added software ‘enhancements’ especially on its camera interface.
Similar to other flagship LG handsets, the new curved Android phone is equipped with buttons at the back.
“The curve helps mostly with the ergonomics,” Android Authority said in a quick look review in the video:
Sprint announced that it started accepting pre-orders for the device on Friday, but the exact release date of the handset is set to March 13. The telco also added that the new G Flex is priced at $504, with other payment options like 2-year service agreement with $199.99 pricing, or the $21 per month, 24-month installment option which Sprint calls ‘Easy Pay’.
In addition to Sprint, AT&T and U.S. Cellular will also retail the new curved handset.
The LG G Flex 2 was first introduced in January at the Consumer Electronics Show.
Other than LG, Samsung Electronics also introduced its own curved smartphone, the Galaxy Round, and the side-curved Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, both are running Android mobile operating system.
