Summary: Samsung has started pushing out
Android 4.1 over the air to SIM-free Samsung Galaxy S III smartphones, a
week after delivering it to operator-specific models.
SIM-free New samsung Galaxy S3 owners in the UK should now be able to update their device to the most latest build of the Android managing system os, known as Jelly Bean.
The company verified the 4.1 edition of the open-source mobile OS began moving out on Wed.
"Samsung UK can validate that the start market Jelly Bean update for New samsung Galaxy SIII is now live," a speaker said in a declaration.
Last week, New samsung declared that it had began providing Jelly Bean to operator-specific gadgets. Three was the first to update clients' gadgets, followed by O2 and United kingdom.
The Japanese device producer has a record of providing up-dates to network-specific gadgets before its SIM-free designs. Formerly, the SIM-free Galaxy S2 was due to get an update to Ice Lotion Food before agreement designs, but the update eventually finished up moving out to SIM-free mobile phones last.
To examine if the update is available, clients need to go to the 'About Phone' area in 'Settings' and tap 'Check for Updates'. It seems that some clients may need to make an effort to examine for up-dates many times due to fill on Samsung's update hosts.
When ZDNet tried on its SIM-free device on Friday a concept showed up saying:
"Access to the software update service is offered to clients in the order in which they ask for it. Try later."
